Beachkam is shutting down
I'm very sad to announce that I've taken the decision to shut down Beachkam.
As you know, the webcams streams come from an external company, based in Lisbon 🇵🇹
I have tried to reach out to this company, to see if it was possible to rent out their streams. They told me that a brand new version of their website is coming soon (matter of weeks), so the answer is no.
I created Beachkam as a prototype, to assess whether or not a nice & radically new user experience was something people wanted for watching live webcams.
Based on the feedbacks I got, it seems that the answer is yes.
But there is
no future for Beachkam
if the owner of the webcams is not on board ⚓️

I could keep an eye on two or three waves at the same time, comparing the same set from one beach to the next. This meant I could go straight to the right beach and bring the right board.
